For one week, from the 7th to 16th of June 2016, Beijing will not just be the Capital of China. When the 8th Italian Cuisine World Summit Roadshow will stop in town, in its best Italian Restaurants, Beijing will also be a world capital of the unique food and wines of Italy. The Summit is realized in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Italy in P.R.C., the Italian Trade Agency – Beijing Office, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China, and is promoted by itchefs-GVCI, a network of more 2500 chefs, culinary professionals and restaurants managers working in 70 countries around the world, with MIELE FOOD Import&Export Ltd.
Six Michelin-starred Guest Chefs, two spectacular Master Pizza Makers and one Super Butcher from Tuscany will bring the best of both traditional and contemporary Italian gastronomy to Beijing food lovers. Famous Master Guest Chefs such as Heinz Beck (La Pergola Restaurant, Waldorf Astoria Hotel, Rome•••), Umberto Bombana (8 ½ Restaurant, Hong Kong •••), Paolo Gramaglia (President Restaurant, Pompen Naples•), Vincenzo Guarino (Il Pievano Restaurant, Castello di Spaltenna Hotel, Gaiole in Chianti, SI•), Luciano Monosilio (Pipero Restaurant, Rex Hotel, Rome•), Daniele Repetti (Nido del Picchio Restaurant, Carpaneto Piacentino, PC•) will be hosted by Giuseppe De Stefano (La Pizza Soho Shangdu), Valter Gosatti(Peking Cafe’), Fabio Nompleggio (Cepe Restaurant, Ritz Carlton Hotel Financial Street), Samuele Rossi (BellaVita Restaurant, Florentia Village, Tianjin), Francesco Sanna (Via Roma Restaurant, Kempinski Hotel Lufthansa Centre), Toby Wang (Grill Restaurant, Hilton Beijing Wangfujing). Together with the chefs will arrive in Beijing also the Super Tuscan Butcher Simone Fracassi (Macelleria Fracassi, Rassina, AR), the Master Pizzaiuolo Fortunato Ostacolo (Lounge Cafe’ Italiano, Dubai) and the Acrobatic Pizza Maker Vincenzo Tesauro. The opening Gala at Kempinski Hotel Lufthansa Centre will see an unprecedented parade of star chefs for a celebration of Italian Cuisine, beloved so much by the Chinese people. On the 8th of June, for the first time in Beijing, 2 Italian Chefs with 3 Michelin stars each, Heinz Beck and Umberto Bombana, will cook together in a historic dinner at Opera Bombana. “Chinese people have a deep love affair with Italian Cuisine and this event is at the same time a tribute to the lovers of Italian food in China and to the unique Italian delicacies”, says Rosario Scarpato, creator and director of the Summit, from Hong Kong, where a Preview of the Beijing event has just been hosted in the Italian Pavilion at Vinexpo and in the celebration of the 15th birthday of Gaia Restaurant.
